Alan deGraaf, Dialogue Re-recording Mixer, Hemlock Grove
“My name is Alan deGraaf and I work at Technicolor Creative Services here in Toronto. I am the dialogue re-recording mixer on Hemlock Grove. I just wanted to say what an incredible job you did capturing the location dialogue for this season. Your tracks are easily some of the best I’ve worked with and I’ve been mixing dialogue for the past 15 years. I am extremely proud of how this season is sounding. The shows are now being played back for the producers in our LA facility and the mixers there have also commented on how clean the dialogue is. It seems that good dialogue capture on set is becoming more and more challenging with the speed in which they shoot, but we have had next to no ADR called for technical reasons which is almost unheard of these days. We have been able to use the boom mic for a large percentage of the show which always sounds so much more natural then the RF’s but when it is necessary to use the RF mics they have sounded really good. Thank you again and I hope I get to work with your tracks again soon. I will definitely be recommending you on future projects. All the best.”
